President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a restructuring of the media and communications team at the State House, re-designating the roles of two of his Special Advisers. The new restructuring, according to a statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday evening, is in a bid to strengthen the government’s communication machinery. The statement also clarified that the new restructuring indicates that three Special Advisers in the media team, including the office of Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, would work collaboratively as “there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency”. The changes, designed to enhance efficiency and streamline the flow of information, will see two recently appointed officials take on new roles. According to the statement, Mr. Sunday Dare, previously the Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, has now been re-designated as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications. This shift is part of a broader strategy to improve the management of media relations within the government. Mr. Daniel Bwala, who was announced just last week as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, will now assume the role of Special Adviser, Policy Communication. This adjustment is intended to better align his expertise with the government’s communication needs. The restructuring, the statement clarified, emphasizes a collective approach to the Presidency’s communication strategy. Rather than relying on a single spokesperson, the three key Special Advisers—Dare, Bwala, and the existing Special Adviser, Information and Strategy—will collaborate to serve as joint spokespersons for the administration. “President Bola Tinubu has re-designated the positions of two recently appointed officials in the State House media and communications team to enhance efficiency within the government’s communication machinery. “The restructuring is as follows: Mr. Sunday Dare – hitherto Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation is now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications. Mr. Daniel Bwala – announced last week as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, is now special adviser Policy Communication. “These appointments, along with the existing role of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy , underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency. “Instead, all the three Special Advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government. “This approach aims to ensure effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and engagements,” the statement reads Post navigation Wike approves N70,000 minimum wage for FCT workers.
