President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condoled with the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, on the passing of his family’s patriarch, Alhaji Abdullahi Sabi.

In a statement yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, reads: “President Bola Tinubu commiserates with the Minister of State, Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, over the passing of the family patriarch, Alhaji Abdullahi Sabi.

“The President says he shares with the minister, his immediate and extended family the pain of the loss of the renowned politician, administrator and traditional ruler, who was a relentless champion for the cause of the poor and vulnerable.

“According to President Tinubu, Alhaji Sabi’s lofty contributions to the Borgu Emirate Council and advocacy for peaceful and participatory development will always be remembered.

“Alhaji Sabi first served as a superintendent of works in Borgu Local Government Area (of Niger State). Then, he spent 21 years as district head of Melale before the Emirate Council deployed him to head the districts of Kigera, Sabuke, and Luma at various times.

“The President believes the visionary leader, the pioneer Chairman of Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Iqamatul Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Borgu Kingdom, lived for the good of humanity and the betterment of society.

“President Tinubu prays that Allah will receive the soul of the departed leader and comfort his family.”

Also, Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed shock and sadness over the passing of Richard Adamu Tallen, a son of former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen.

Shettima described the loss as unexpected, praying God for the peaceful repose of the late Richard’s soul.

The Vice President spoke yesterday when he visited the family’s Abuja home in company of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President in the Office of the Vice President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.

Addressing the grieving family, Shettima said: “I can only imagine the pain the family is going through right now. On behalf of my principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I condole with you. May God grant you the heart to contain the pain and grant you the fortitude to bear this loss.”
