Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Youth Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United States of America (APC USA), Oyakhilome Bello, has called for a constitutional amendment that would ensure diaspora voting, insisting that Nigerians abroad are yearning to vote for the party in future elections

Bello said many Nigerians in the diaspora are ready to carry out their civic responsibility in electing leaders at all levels during the country’s general elections.

Calling on the National Assembly on Friday while speaking with newsmen at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Bello said the lawmakers and the Executive arm should do the needful by ensuring the Electoral amendment that will enable Nigerians abroad to vote.

The Youth Leader who is also a member of Edo APC Governorship Campaign Council Diaspora Directorate in the fourth coming September Edo State governorship election noted that many members of the party in the diaspora who wanted to vote for the party during the last election were denied the opportunity.

“The truth is, APC has many members, supporters, and sympathizers here in America, who wanted to vote for our party but were denied the voting right during the last election.

“That is why, I am appealing along with some like minds to the National Assembly to consider the amendment of the Constitution and Electoral Act to accommodate diaspora voting.

“If this is done, Nigerians will shocked by the numbers of our citizens in the diaspora that are willing to vote and to vote for APC.”

The youth leader commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling party for the maturity and high sense of patriotism displayed during the just concluded nationwide protest.

Appealing for more patience, Bello assured Nigerians that the current hard time being experienced would soon be history.

He reminded Nigerians of the policies, programmes, and projects being embarked upon by the President Tinubu-led administration to bring succor to the masses, insisting that the worst is over.
