Senator representing Lagos East, Adetokunbo Abiru, who turned 60 yesterday, has reached out to consstituents experiencing economic hardship. Abiru, who supports the needy every quarter, raised his food packs to 10,000 for households in 98 wards in Lagos East 16 council development areas and local governments. In his birthday message to residents, Abiru appreciated God for his kindness to his household. He thanked his wife, Fesyisola, and children for their support. The lawmaker greeted the people of Lagos East for allowing him serve them, party leaders, and President Bola Tinubu, who made impact in his political journey. Abiru said: ‘‘I am using my 60th birthday to identify with you, my constituents in this economic hardship. It will be insensitive of me to throw a party, entertaining guests when people are struggling to meet basic needs. ‘‘I shelved all plans and decided to provide food packs to over 10,000 households in Lagos East Senatorial District. “As I do every quarter, the categories are widows, persons living with physical disabilities, unemployed youths, women and the aged. For more inclusiveness and wider reach, vulnerable persons online will also benefit”. “ I am optimistic this pain will be over soon. The Federal Government has promised that food security, price stability and interventions by governor will ease the pains”. “My commitment to deliver on the three pillars of Legislative, Empowerment/Facilitations and Endowment is to ensure greater good for people”.
